Ink Ink FAQ

+ How do I go about booking an appointment?

For most piercings we do not require an appointment, we always try to have a piercer on staff for most piercings. For children’s ears ages 4 to 12 or an advanced genital piercing, we suggest to call ahead and schedule an appointment. For a tattoo appointment, you will need to fill out our contact form. Please make sure the email you type on the form is correct as this is the only way for us to respond to your inquiry. This is an email inquiry that goes directly to our scheduling assistant or the artist you select. If you are unsure or have no artist preference, our scheduling assistant is who helps you get placed with the artist best suited for your design because we have different artists that train and specialize in different styles. She is also making sure your general size and detail is scheduled for enough time.
When emailing, if you have an artist preference go ahead and put that in the email, send in your general idea of the tattoo you’re thinking, and we will ask any further questions from there. Don’t feel like you have to have a photo for your design, our artists will design something original and fitting to your specific needs. Once you are set up with your artist, you are required to pay your deposit to finish booking the appointment. Closer to the appointment, your artist will reach out to you if they have any questions. If you don’t hear from your artist don’t worry! Every appointment has built in design time the day of your appointment to go over any other additional details. We believe that the final details of a design should be decided once face to face after meeting and seeing potential placements. If you do decide to change your design prior to your appointment, please be courteous and send us an email and explain what you are wanting to do differently. Sometimes design changes will affect the scheduled tattoo time for your appointment or the artist recommended, so we want to make sure there is plenty of time to take care of every customer.

+ What do I need to bring to my appointment?

The state requires everyone to fill out a general consent form for any procedure. We do tattoo and pierce under 18 (Check FAQ for age limits) but we do need a biological parent or legal guardian to be present for the entire procedure and bring both their state issued ID and a state issued ID or birth certificate for the minor. Please, eat lunch before arriving to your appointment- you never want to get pierced or tattooed without eating a good meal. And we suggest lots of water prior and during the procedure. (We do also have a vending machine for drinks if you forget to bring one or need a drink during your procedure) We also suggest snack during your piece if your tattoo will take a while. Bring comfortable clothing to get tattooed in. Make sure your clothes are mobile enough that we can reach the placement easily that you are wanting tattooed or pierced.
We do accept both cash and credit cards, but we do have a $3 fee for using credit /debit cards.

+ Kelsey’s “What to expect” policy

I do specialize in color realism tattoos and I will try and design your idea in a way that fits my style, because that is the style I practice everyday and what I am best at. My goal is always to get you the best possible tattoo. When making an appointment with me, I do require at least a $200 non-refundable deposit per appointment scheduled. It will come off the price of the tattoo the day that the tattoo is completed. This is a deposit to hold that time slot for your appointment. I do not allow any reschedules or deposit tranfers. Don’t feel like you have to find reference photos,- describing it to me will be the best so I can design as fresh and original as possible for you. When we schedule your appointment, I am agreeing to that design and the time involved with that piece. If you change your mind on what you’re wanting before your scheduled appointment date, I have the right to cancel your appointment without a refund of the deposit. If you change your mind on what you’re wanting and you change your idea to something that I do not specialize in or I feel I won’t excel at, I will not agree to carry out the new tattoo idea. If you need a touch up, I do charge a $200 minimum for a follow up touch up appointment. This will be scheduled just like your original appointment. And will be a full sitting so we are not rushed on anything that may need to be brightened or recolored. The $200 is for the time slot and for the set up costs. If one of my pieces needs touched up, I would rather have a legitimate tattoo session versus a “squeeze in” between other appointments. I do only schedule full day pieces and full sleeve ideas. I do require a sleeve to be started and finished within a year. My style is ever changing, and it is hard to match the start of a piece to the end of a piece if it is done over several years. Sometimes I will touch base with you about your design prior to your appointment, but if not, I always allow time in the beginning of our appointment to discuss any changes or questions you may have. Everything is designed digitally, so it is very easy and quick for me to make adjustments. From there, I usually tell people to allow up to 2 hours for design finalization and setting up. Setting up our station alone can take an hour. I will print of all your stencils and we will talk about the best placement for your piece. When I see your body and meet you, we may decide on a different placement for your tattoo. I also suggest to bring comfy clothes and mobile clothes in case we decide a leg, or a back is better than an arm.

+ Tour Dates

Each artist has an ever changing tour schedule with Tattoo Conventions and Guest Spots at shops in other cities. Please follow everyone on instagram to keep up with where they will be and when. Each artists instagram is linked under their name on the Artists page.

+ Deposit Policy

In order to book an appointment with any of our artists we requre at least a $60-100 deposit. Each artist has the right to require a larger deposit. This is a non refundable deposit and is non transferrable to another day if you need to reschedule or cancel. This deposit goes to reserve your artists time slot for your appointment time. The deposit is for the specific style and design that you and your artist agree on before booking and your artist has the right to keep your deposit and not tattoo you if you change your design to a style that isn't her specialty or is a size drastically smaller or larger and not doable in the time alotted for your appointment. We require at least $60 or $100 for every tattoo appointment and it does come off the price of your tattoo. To pay the deposit we will send you a link to pay it through our website using paypal. Until your deposit is received, you will not be put on the schedule. If you do not show up for your appointment on time your deposit will be forfeited and must have a new deposit to reschedule. If you show up 30 minutes late or more then you will lose your deposit and depending on time may not be able to be tattooed that day.

+ General Pricing

We do have a piercing price list online with our general pricing. All piercings have a basic standard price which would include our standard surgical grade stainless steel or titanium jewelry. This would be either a silver ball stud, curved barbell, or horseshoe. Then there are additional fees if you wish to upgrade your jewelry to a diamond, or 14k gold, etc. All jewelry options are in store. We do say to choose a piece of jewelry you can live with for a while, because your jewelry cannot be changed for 6-12 weeks depending on your piercing.
For tattoos, we have a shop minimum of $100. This is our minimum set up fee and would consist of a very small tattoo in black ink only, like an initial, small single word, or small simple symbol. From there our prices go up depending on general size and detail. Once you get into large pieces, we generally charge $300-$350 per hand sized area. Once your piece is sized and placed on your body we can give you a better price range.
